About The Role:

This is one of our first AE hires, a chance to build our enterprise sales motion from the ground up and work with the Founder / CEO directly who has been a repeat entrepreneur with a history of successful outcomes. You’ll shape territory strategy, experiment with outbound engines, and help define how we win. As we scale, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into regional or leadership roles with significant ownership. You’ll build repeatable pipeline engines, navigate multi-threaded security and data buyer groups, and close new ARR, partnering tightly with our founders, product, and solutions teams.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close, for net-new enterprise accounts, maintaining a 3–5× pipeline with disciplined forecasting.
  • Create a pipeline independently: design and execute outbound plays (cold calls, emails, social media, events), leverage modern tools, and partner with SDRs and marketing to scale what works.
  • Run enterprise-grade discovery and value selling with CISOs, CDOs, security, privacy, data, and platform teams; tailor business cases to risk reduction in data security/storage programs.
  • Orchestrate POVs with Sales Engineering/Solutions to prove time-to-value on Ray’s predictive data security outcomes.
  • Work the ecosystem: engage partners for co-sell and extend reach where it accelerates deals.
  • Be the voice of the field: capture buyer feedback, influence roadmap, and help shape GTM playbooks in a fast-moving startup

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5-7+ years of full-cycle enterprise sales in data security
  • Consistent performance at early-stage startups (Seed–Series B) where you built a pipeline and closed multi-stakeholder deals with minimal support.
  • Proven command of outbound prospecting and opportunity creation. You can show sequences, conversion rates, and deals you sourced.
  • Strong MEDDICC/Challenger/SPICED (or equivalent) rigor with accurate deal qualification and deal reviews.
  • Comfortable selling to security and data leaders and translating technical capabilities into risk, compliance, and cost outcomes (Aligned to enterprise data-security motions).

Nice to have

  • Experience with DSPM, DLP, data governance, identity-adjacent security, or enterprise storage/backup (e.g., Varonis/BigID/Rubrik/Cohesity/Egnyte or similar).
  • Experience selling content/data platforms into security/compliance use cases (e.g., mapping data exposure, insider risk, over-permissioning, GRC).
  • Prior success launching a new territory or first-in-region role.
  • Security or cloud certification.
